Student Amenities and Supportive Services Office of the Student Affairs: The Dean of Students Affairs gives advise and guidance on student related matters. The Dean is available for guidance on matters relating to accommodation, liaison with student bodies and the like. The Office is located near the Hostels on the Campus. Accommodation: The University is fully residential one. Accommodation is provided in six Hostel Buildings, each with three floors. Clean, healthy and hygienic diet will be supplied in the hostels. Health Centre: A six bedded Health Centre with basic laboratory and surgical facilities is provided on the campus. A residential Medical Officer will be available for the needy. Ambulance service is also available. University Library: The University has a fully equipped central library, housed in a spacious building. It has a large stack area of 55,000 volumes and 232 journals. INFLIBNET facility is being installed, which would facilitate networking with libraries in other institutions. Under INFLIBNET Programme the University Library has computerized all of its operations using SOUL software. Through INFONET Programme the University e-journals 660 from Springer Link and 650 from Kluwar online. CD-search, OPAC, Internet facility and reprographic facility is available for staff and students. Computer Centre: The Computer centre has advance computer equipment and provides numerous services to meet the whole range of computer needs of the University. The Centre has latest Hardware such as two Servers and 25 PCs of latest configuration, which are connected through LAN in addition to SCO-UNIX SERVER. It also provides Windows NT and Linux Operating systems, Software like Visual Studio, Java etc; to the users as per their needs. Campus Network : Administration, Departments, Hostels, Library and other centres of the University are Networked and Internet facility is available.
This Centre provides career advise, career and placement service to all the students. Subjects comprise the following: (a) Career Awareness (b) decision making (c) information on employers and vacancies (d) Job hunting skills (e) interview skills (f) personal and managerial skills and (g) career management skill. Guidance is provided through different means including self study materials, lectures, workshops, video shows, one to one counseling, online counseling through intranet and alumni interviews. |
Counseling Centre: The University provides counseling on personal matters as well as psychological counseling and advise will be provided. Legal Aid Centre: Extends counseling on legal matters. Centre for Physical Education and Sports: This Centre administers all sports facilities in the University, namely, Indoor Stadium, Multi Gym, besides out door games. The center also provides coaching for various games and sports. Coaching Centre: U.G.C. Sponsored schemes for special coaching and remedial classes are provided for SC., ST, and students belonging to the minority sections of the society. Coaching is also provided for GMAT, TOEFEL, Civil Services and other public examinations. Soft Skills improvement and Language Lab: UGC sponsored Soft Skills improvement and language Lab is established to train the students in communicative English and soft skills development.
The students are given opportunity to earn while they learn in certain academic areas identified by the University Married women with children wishing to pursue higher education could avail this service and continue their education. SCHOLARSHIPS / FELLOWSHIPS / FREESHIPS / BURSARIES v S.C. & S.T. Scholarship NOTE: The above scholarships are available for eligible candidates. The rules governing the same can be ascertained from the Dean of Academic Affairs office. LOCATION OF OFFICES The offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations and other administrative staff are housed in the Administrative building situated at the entrance of the University campus. The offices of the Deans are situated in their respective buildings. The Warden’s office is located in the Hostel premises. |
