EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES


NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS):


The NSS unit of University College is consistently involved in social service activities. It has 8 units and all the students of the university are enrolled as volunteers in the units. Under the active guidance of the Programme Co-coordinator and the Programme Officers the NSS unit is vigorously involved in the conduct of clean and green activities, special camps in rural areas, arranging extension lectures, organizing workshops and training programmes etc. With the spirit of humanitarian service, the NSS volunteers regularly participate in National Integration camps. Many volunteers have represented the University in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, thus placing the University on a high pedestal. Blood donors unit and cultural affairs unit have also been initiated recently under the umbrella of NSS activities.


YOUTH RED CROSS:

The University has started recently a Youth Red Cross unit, to promote the spirit of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary service, Unity and Universality. The unit aims at promoting health and hygiene, providing service to others and world friendliness. The unit is actively involved in humanitarian service activities, promotion of friendship and cultural activities.


CULTURAL AFFAIRS:

This unit caters to the extra curricular and co-curricular needs of the students. Under the guidance of a coordinator, the students are encouraged and trained to participate in various cultural activities and festivals at regional and national levels. Our students have brought laurels to the university by participating in various youth festivals.


ETHICAL REJUVENATION:

For the integrated development of the students, the University is constantly striving to promote ethical rejuvenation amongst the students. Spiritual discourses, lectures, yoga, meditation etc. are organized for the students from time to time. This programme is sponsored by the Ramanadham Charitable Trust, Hyderabad.


STUDENT ASSOCIATION :


The University has an active student union, which is an elected body of student representatives. The student association advisor guides the students association in looking after the student activities in areas such as sports, cultural affairs, hostels, college magazine, etc. The association body is actively involved in the conduct of competitions for college day celebrations, and various activities organized for social and humanitarian causes at State and National level.
